My Work, My Vision

EDUARD LEAHU

I have always been captivated by the arts. From a young age, I remember being involved in all sorts of arts: from music to painting, from literature to photography, from performing arts to cinematography. As I grew up, I found that having an artistic outlet was the perfect way to express my thoughts, creativity, and imagination. I quickly fell in love with film-making and haven't looked back since, committing myself to a career as a professional cinematographer. Telling stories is what I like the most about my job. Finding new ways to tell stories, developing new visual concepts, creating new meanings, imagining new worlds. It is impossible to ever get bored doing what I do. Every day something new happens, every day is a new challenge, every day is a new discovery. I have a feeling that I will explore the vast territory of visual arts for many years to come.

Photography is the truth. Cinematography is the truth 24 times per second.”

I am currently based in Tallinn, Estonia. Having worked before in Bucharest, Romania; Rome, Italy; Lisbon, Portugal; Dublin, Ireland; Budapest, Hungary; and many other exciting destinations.

Over the span of my academic career, I have been part of six Universities across the world:

I believe that my experience working with international crews on film sets, developing international projects in many different countries, and reaching audiences on four different continents, helped me to better understand human nature in the context of the broader picture and at the same time awakened in me a thirst for knowledge and wisdom.
